Breaking news just in to the EPL Talk desk. ESPN2 will show the opening game of the 2009-2010 season between Chelsea and Hull City at 7:45am ET Saturday.
“Chelsea v Hull 7:45 AM on ESPN2 – and look for the EPL every or most Saturdays in that time slot,” reported ESPN Spanish-language announcer Roberto Abramowitz on the North American Soccer List.
We have a message in to ESPN to confirm the news, but since it’s coming from a person at ESPN who publicly posted the information, it looks like the real deal.
More details to come.

Sweet!!! I just saw the link. Good luck Jozy we are all rooting for you!
More important question though…is “Special 1 TV” coming back?!?!?!
Wow, I looked for games last night and didn’t find anything.
Just to be clear, this means the American ESPN2 feed will begin airing EPL games, as well?
Yes the coverage started at 7:30 AM ET in the US on ESPN2 and also in HD and will continue weekly at the same time every Saturday except when there is no 7:45 game. In that case it will be a 10 AM ET start. Next week the game has Man Utd. vs Wigan.
Also ESPN2 may also show games on mondays at 3 PM ET.
Awesome, thanks for the clarification.
I was a bit disappointed last night when I thought they weren’t going to regularly air games here in the States from their newly-signed contract (Time Warner had not yet updated the listing).
Glad to hear that won’t be the case. Between FCS and ESPN, we should be able to get a handful of live games each week.
